Prayers Towards Londontown...

Again, the world has been given a sharp, short, small glimpse of what is important in life. London, England is the latest place where extreme poverty has turned to terrorism and people lie dead in the streets while we sit on our couches and watch on TV. Blood pours down the side of buildings as the networks switch back to soap operas.

We Americans have no idea what suffering is. We watch bombings on TV like they are far away and will never touch us. We are apathetic at best. We worship God like He is dead, when reality says that our lives are but a vapor. What will happen when the enemy lands on OUR soil? What then? Is that what it will take for us to care? To wake up our sleeping American Church? To turn back to God? To at least fear Him?

I pray that God visits George Bush in his sleep. I pray that the leaders at the G8 conference today realize just how much of an effect they can have on this world. To leave their mark. To live up to their calling.

ps- In the time I wrote this, 10 children died of AIDS and extreme poverty.

Interesting times. God, have mercy on us for we know not what we do.
